The Bayside Sharks suffered a rough start to the new year with a 43-25 road loss to the University of Victoria in Canadian Direct Insurance premier rugby league action last weekend.

Gurvinder Kalar and Pat Bickerton each scored a pair of tries for the Sharks while Graham Rogers chipped in two conversions.

The first division Sharks also found the swimming tough on Vancouver Island as they were rocked 63-5 by UVic.

went even worse for The Sharks premier team returns to action Saturday when they travel to Vancouver to take on the UBC Old Boys Ravens. Game time is 2: 45 p.m. at Jericho Park.
