Delta Sungod swimmer Albert Yu, 11, spent the weekend in the fast lane at the class AA swim provincials in Fleetwood.

The meet attracted 500 swimmers between the ages nine and 18 from across the province.

Albert made waves all weekend as he posted class AAA qualifying times for the breaststroke, paring 14 seconds off his personal best clockings. Albert struck gold in the 200 breaststroke and placed eighth in the 100m freestyle.

Ten-year-old Reece Landry also shone at the meet, setting a Delta Sungod club record for boys' 10-and-under 200m breaststroke of three minutes, 32.11 seconds.

Other Sungod results included Rosanna Chung, 16, who placed fourth in the 400m individual medley; and Reece Landry, 10, who won fourth in the 100m butterfly.

The Delta Sungod Swim Club will be hosting a $20 March Break Swim Camp with head coach Kurt Murphy. Children who have completed their Red Cross Level 7 or higher are welcome to attend.

The camp runs from March 22 to 25 between 9 and 10 a.m. at North Delta's Sungod Recreation Centre.
