A Surrey woman is accused of murdering her mom.

Gloria Zerbinos, 28, has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of her 43-year-old mother Panagiota Zerbinos, whose body was found last Thursday night inside a basement suite in the 8400-block of 148A Street.

Gloria Zerbinos was arrested in downtown Vancouver on Saturday night.

"The cause of death and motive for the killing are not being released at this time as the investigation remains ongoing and is now before the courts," said Cpl. Adam MacIntosh, spokesman for the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team.

MacIntosh said no other arrests are anticipated. "There is no indication the motive was gang or drug related."
