Surrey Mounties and firefighters are still trying to determine what caused a suspicious explosion and fire last Friday night that destroyed two trailer homes and damaged three others in Bridgeview.

"It was not a bomb," Surrey Deputy Fire Chief Karen Fry said Wednesday.

"It probably had something to do with a fuel source, but we cannot make any determinations as to the actual cause other than it was suspicious and we did turn it over to the RCMP."

Cpl. Bert Paquet said Wednesday that police had yet to identify a suspect. No one was injured in the blaze at the trailer park at 12662 112A Ave. but 15 people were left homeless.

Paquet said emergency social services found temporary shelter for 10 of the displaced residents while the other five found themselves places to stay.
