Cue the wuckity, wuckity 1970's chase music...
A 16-year-old Surrey boy led police on a wild goose chase through downtown Langley on Saturday afternoon after an RCMP officer who knew he was wanted on an outstanding warrant spotted him near the Greyhound Bus depot.
The teen ran through the Logan bus loop and tried hiding on a bus until another cop, on that same bus, also recognized him and joined the chase. The teen ran through a Value Village parking lot, down Salt Lane and onto Fraser Highway before one of the cops tackled him. There was a fight, and the teen broke free.
"Several civilians came to the aide of the officer," said Cpl. Holly Marks, of the Langley RCMP. "At least two of them helped to control the suspect's hands so the officer was able to get the handcuffs secured."
