Surrey trucker Balwinder Singh Gill, 53, was killed on Monday when a Super-B semi-trailer crashed head-on into his rig near Hixon.

Gill's truck was empty but the Super-B truck, with two trailers, was fully loaded with lumber.

The BC Coroners Service said the Super-B crossed the centre line and hit Gill's rig. He died at the scene,

The roadway was slippery and it was lightly snowing at the time.

Hixon is located along Highway 97 between Prince George and Quesnel.

The corners service, WorkSafe BC and the RCMP are investigating the crash.
