Former Surrey Tory MP Gurmant Grewal is planning to take another run at federal politics in the next general election.
"Yes, I will," he told the Now when asked if he'll seek election in 2015. "I'm prepared to run."
Grewal said he's got his eye on the Conservative MP candidacy for the new Cloverdale-Langley riding while his wife Nina Grewal will seek re-election in Fleetwood-Port Kells, a seat she's held since 2004.
The Grewals set a Commonwealth record in 2004 by being the first married couple to serve in the House of Commons at the same time.
Gurmant Grewal represented the old Surrey Central riding as a Reform and then Canadian Alliance MP from 1997 to 2004 before the electoral boundaries were redrawn. In 2004 he was then elected Conservative MP in Newton-North Delta, a seat he held until 2005.
