City's smart meter advocacy too little, too late

The Editor,

Re: "Surrey urges B.C. to make smart meters optional," the Now, Jan. 26.

So Surrey is advocating for the residents of the city because smart meters are a concern to us. Well, how nice to see the story by Amy Reid in the Now.

Too little, too late, we say as owners of a townhome in Surrey. BC Hydro installed a cluster of 13 smart meters in a room adjacent to our garage next to our kitchen.

We did everything right - we read all the information, flagged our account for BC Hydro, contacted the City of Surrey, MLA Gordon Hogg, our strata council - and here we are a few months later, "sitting ducks."

All we want is 100 per cent of the truth about smart meters. The terrible stress this has caused our family is unacceptable.
