The Editor,
Re: "Irish eyes are smiling in Surrey," the Now, March 12.
I read with interest the column by Sarah Flynn. While I congratulate her on her success and am happy to see her settled here, I was left with an unanswered question - how did she get here?
She writes, "I bought a one-way ticket to Vancouver." She makes it sound very easy - just buy a ticket and hop on a plane!
There are millions of people wanting to come to Canada and can't just get a ticket and come. They must have some immigration status to come. I don't want her article to be misleading to others, that this is all they have to do.
Flynn must have been sponsored by someone or had her papers processed either as an immigrant or as a visitor to be able to land here.
